Radio Mu

about

Mu was a continent in the Atlantic Ocean, now lost. In its day, it boasted an advanced civilization of 64 million souls. The inhabitants of Mu were known as the Naacal. They were said to have developed many modern technologies, including airships, radio, microwave weapons, sophisticated techniques of surgery, and instantaneous travel using negative space—or “Ma.” The king of Mu was Rah, a Promethean figure who brought forth startling scientific achievements from his palace in the capitol city. He was known to be in direct communication with the gods, who gave him the wisdom and knowledge he used to build his fabulous empire.

Mu was finally destroyed by a great cataclysm—volcanic activity, according to some, while others have said it bore a striking resemblance to a nuclear explosion. Rah was killed in the disaster, as was most of Mu's population. His queen escaped using the Ma transporter, and was rumored to have later founded the empire of Egypt. The other survivors fled east to the Americas, where they built their own civilizations.

The only remnants of Mu are a few scattered islands in the Pacific—including Hawaii and Easter Island—and the Yonaguni Monument submerged off the shores of Japan. The megalithic faces of Easter Island are one of the few remaining examples of Mu's grand architecture. Easter Island was originally a kind of factory where sculptors fashioned statues to be transported to cities and temples all across the continent.
