about

We (The Far Stairs) were lucky enough to get our hands on the original demo recordings for Paul Astor's experimental stage show THE PARANORMAL OPERA. We were inspired to record our own versions of these songs as a way to get this interesting and largely unheard work out to the public.

The OPERA has never been performed live and isn't likely to be anytime soon. Since Astor's disappearance, the material (including the original demo recordings) is currently under copyright dispute. We were only able to get around this thorny legal situation by recording "covers" of the songs. This may be the only chance you'll ever get to hear this bizarre and fascinating work. Hopefully we did it justice.
